The Course

This course consists of three lectures, featuring animations and illustrations designed to help you visualise the decision-making process and ensure your patient is prepared and ready to take on rectal irrigation as their next treatment option. This course also covers the steps involved in teaching your patient how to use their system.

While there's no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to assessing your patients' readiness for the next treatment option; this course will provide you with additional tools to support that process.

What you will learn

Our goal with this course, is to help equip you with the skills for introducing rectal irrigation to patients. We aim to ensure that both their professionals are well prepared and that patients fully understand and can proficiently use Qufora products for irrigation.

Upon completion, you will be proficient in planning the introduction of rectal irrigation to patients, skilled in identifying and addressing barriers, and be able to facilitate understanding and proficiency with the Qufora products for rectal irrigation.

Meet Brigitte Collins

Brigitte has over 25+ years’ experience in the field of bowel dysfunction. Her career has progressed from working within an acute colorectal ward to becoming a CNS in Stoma Care and up until just over 5 years ago was the Lead Nurse within the Biofeedback service at St Marks Hospital, London for 14 years, where she was able to complete an MSc in GI nursing and degree module for Nurse Prescribing.

Psychological readiness is about being in the right frame of mind to undertake a new activity, in this case, learning and using rectal irrigation. It takes into account both mental and emotional factors of the individual, involving a combination of mental strength, emotional stability, confidence and adaptability. Achieving psychological readiness might involve learning a new task (e.g rectal irrigation) and also the development of coping strategies to handle any challenges that may arise.
